Where to buy food and drink on Sunday in Zagreb (2026)
It's Sunday, the shops are shut and you're hungry or thirsty. Here's where to go in central Zagreb, and why Vendo is always open.
Since 2023, most shops in Croatia have been closed on Sundays. They may only open on a limited number of Sundays a year. For the ones that do open, see nedjelja.hr, a list of shops open on Sunday.
If you need something right now, without searching: Vendo in central Zagreb is open 24/7, every day, including Sundays and public holidays.
What you can buy at Vendo on a Sunday
- Something proper to eat: sandwiches for €2.50 (prosciutto & cheese, ham & cheese, salami & cheese, mozzarella & tomato).
- Something cold: Coca-Cola €1.50, Coca-Cola Zero €1.60, Sprite €1.50, iced tea €1.50, Powerade €1.80, water €1.10.
- Sweet: Kinder Bueno, Snickers, Twix, Oreo, brownie, from €0.80.
- Savoury: Doritos, Tuc crackers, Hrusty sticks, bruschette, from €0.70.
- Coffee: espresso €0.90; cappuccino, latte and macchiato €1.00.
Example: a sandwich, a Coca-Cola and an espresso = €4.90.
Other Sunday options
